Meeting at the Intersections: Our Stories
In our conversations about gender, sexuality, marriage, and leadership at First Pres, there is much to be gained by continuing to listen to God and to one another. Although our last scheduled conversation has taken place, we continue to welcome stories from a variety of perspectives as we seek to humbly know and hold each other in the presence and community of Christ.
Would you consider sharing your story? You might include your thoughts on any of the following:
The story submission form below allows you to designate how and with whom your story is shared. Your story can be shared with pastoral staff, Session, or the congregation; submitted as authored or anonymous; and considered for publication and/or public reading. Suggested length is 1–3 pages. The deadline for consideration for public reading on June 14 has passed; you may still submit stories below for Pastors, Session, and/or consideration for publication.
A story selection team (comprised of pastors, elders, and laity who represent a diverse range of views) will review and select stories to be read at our June 14 gathering and/or to be included in a print publication; it is our hope that many of you will allow your stories to be considered. Authors who wish to remain anonymous may still opt to be considered for public reading; anonymous stories that are selected will be read by another member of the congregation.
All information submitted through this form will go through Kristen Gustavson, Executive Director of Berkeley Christian Counselors, who will treat your information with the utmost confidentiality and forward it to the audiences you designate. If you wish to submit your story on paper, drop it off in a sealed envelope at Reception, attention: Kristen Gustavson. If you have any questions, please contact Kristen at (510) 548-5858 or email@example.com.
