Project Peace

One of our major local service partners is Project Peace East Bay, a local organization that exists to create partnerships between churches and social service providers in Berkeley, Oakland, and surrounding areas. Through Project Peace we are connected to various service and learning opportunities to deepen our faith and our ability to serve our world.

Speaker Series

The Project Peace Speaker Series is a public forum where together we tackle a specific & local question of inequity. Coming next is The Lament Project. The Lament Project, part of the Project Peace Speaker Series, explores what it looks like for racialized people to lament the stories of others, specifically between a Black man, an Asian American woman, and a white woman—framed for the public as a creative video conversation, as if the audience were eavesdropping on a vulnerable moment. The conversation will be grounded in the context of their friendship, oriented toward their faith in God, and explore hard-to-voice questions about racial injustice through original music, spoken word, worship, prayer, and interactive elements.
