Space for Grace

Early Pledge Commitments

As we prepare for Commitment Sunday on October 11, we are asking those who are more engaged in our church to make an early pledge commitment by Thursday, October 1. We plan to announce a commitment total to motivate and inspire the congregation at large on Sunday, October 4.

We've received early pledges from several who have made lead gifts, as well as from Space for Grace campaign chairs and others serving on the campaign leadership team—we already have pledges for a third of our $4.5 million goal! We now invite and encourage those who attended the Space for Grace Leadership Commitment Dinners, to join Session, the Stewardship and Personnel Departments of Session, Deacons, and Staff to make an early pledge by October 1.

Here are two new resources as you reflect on what your commitment to Space for Grace might be—in addition to the campaign case statement, FAQ, and devotions:

  • A Commitment Guide for additional reflection and discussion as you make your decision about giving
  • A Gift Chart that offers a model of proportional giving, as a hypothetical picture of how a wide array of gifts together will help us to achieve our $4.5 million campaign goal

We hope you find these tools useful as you prayerfully consider how God might be calling you to join this effort.

It would be most helpful to receive your early commitment Pledge Card in the mail by Thursday, October 1 (Attention: Space for Grace), or pledge online, or email your pledge commitment to Sue Burger at sueb@fpcberkeley.org.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours in Christ and with gratitude for you and our church,
