Community Groups (CGs) are at the heart of our life together at First Pres. Within these smaller communities we learn from one another and become companions on life’s journey as we set aside time and make space to share our stories and care for one another.
Lent is a special six-week season in the life of our community for gathering in small groups—typically six to twelve adults, meeting on various days and times, in homes or on the First Pres campus. In our conversations we explore God’s Word from the Sunday message in the Lenten series Everyday Spirituality: Finding Jesus in the Ordinary, guided by Questions for Reflection (available each week to download—see sidebar on this page).
Through our shared stories and conversations we receive mutual encouragement and experience deeper connections with others, and with God. In drawing closer to Jesus and one another we become ones who are sent outward as participants in God’s mission in the world, specifically as we serve together on Do Justice Day of Service, Saturday, March 21.
Community Groups during Lent meet weekly from March 1–April 10.
