Evening with Jim Wallis of Sojourners

October 29, 2019 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Jim Wallis at First Pres: Reclaiming Jesus
Tuesday, October 29, 7 pm, Sanctuary
“This is Jim Wallis at his best, a ‘Jesus book’ better than any I’ve seen in some time, and could not be more timely or more challenging. It offers a drink of fresh water to anyone who has felt despair at the state of the world—Christian and non-Christian alike.” –Richard Rohr, Author, The Universal Christ
JIM WALLIS is a globally respected writer, teacher, preacher, justice advocate, and commentator on ethics and public life. He is a New York Times bestselling author of twelve books and is the Founder, President, and Editor-In-Chief of Sojourners. He served on President Obama’s White House Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. In his latest book, Wallis argues that our cultural and political crisis largely stems from how the American church has become disconnected from the teachings of Jesus Christ. Building on the popular and controversial “Reclaiming Jesus” declaration he and other church leaders wrote in May 2018 to address America’s moral crisis.
